About Semper Poodelis
Hi, I'm Kiley Cabrera. I'm the breeder behind Semper Poodelis located in Vail, AZ. I am a small hobby breeder breeding to better the breed. I am a dog groomer and trainer. Have loved animals since I was a kid. I started working at rescues volunteering at 13, by 15 I was a foster mom to puppies needing more time before adoption. After high school, I went into a trade school for grooming and became in love with the Standard Poodle breed. Thus began my life with Poodles.
In 2010 I brought home my 1st Standard Poodle. She was the show puppy pick. I had never shown before but had a great mentor so I decided why not. By 7 months old she took 1st place in AKC. After that, I purchased another pup from my mentor and started to title him. I quickly fell in love with showing Poodles and decided in 2012 to try breeding.
There is also a German Shorthaired Pointer that belongs to my oldest kid. Her name is Courtney and she is spayed. She loves when the puppies are old enough to interact with everyone so she can have them try to chase her around the yard.
Our Standards
We are trying to bring back out the best in the poodle. Multi colors lost their conformation over the years and solids lost their temperaments. We are trying to put that back in. Poodles should be a lab with a college education. Both beauty and brains, they are the whole package!
How Our Puppies are Raised
They start ENS and ESI at 4 days of age. That continues until 21 days. At 21 days we start Puppy Culture techniques of loading the clicker, box game, barrier challenge etc. Every day they are held, played with, loved on by my trusted friends and family, and of course myself and children. I groom them from 2.5 weeks on to get them used to the life of grooming ahead. I keep all pups until 10 weeks to ensure they get the proper socialization they need to be more well-rounded pups. Puppies are Avid dog tested at 7 weeks to try to get the best match for their new families.
